slovenian musician, bassoon player, pianist and composer

Born on October 3, 1971, in Trieste, Italy, he attended State Conservatory of Music “Giuseppe Tartini”, where he studied bassoon with M° Vojko Cesar, and slovenian music school Glasbena Matica “Marij Kogoj”, where he studied piano with M° Aleksander Rojc and composition with slovenian composer Aldo Kumar.

As basson player he is especially active as chamber musician and orchestral player.
He is member of Ensemble strumentale triestino – a wind chamber group conducted by M° Franco Poloni, Ensemble Nomos and Nomos Jazz ensemble – groups, where he is one of the founder members and artistic director, and others ensembles such as wind trios, quartets and quintets. He has played in wind orchestras “Giuseppe Verdi”, “Città di Muggia” and “Città di Gorizia”, and occasionaly collaborated with wind bands from Prosek, Italy and Sežana, Slovenia.
He has also played in many symphonic orchestras: “Città di Trieste”, “Città di Monfalcone”, “Città di Portogruaro”, “Musikfreunde Braunau-Simbach”, Nuova orchestra F. Busoni, ArsAtelier and Glasbena Matica-SCVG Emil Komel.
With the symphonic orchestra Opera giocosa del Friuli-Venezia Giulia he has performed and recorded many of Mozart’s operas such as Don Giovanni, Le nozze di Figaro, Così fan tutte, Zauberflöte, Il ratto dal serraglio, and operas Pia de’ Tolomei (G. Donizetti), Signor Bruschino (G. Rossini), Sasso pagano by Triestine composer Giulio Viozzi, the Puccini’s Messa di Gloria and Mozart’s Requiem.
For many years he has also collaborated with Trieste Conservatory as bassoon player and Glasbena Matica as pianist.

As composer he began to write music from his very early age.
He has composed especially chamber works, both instrumental and vocal. The most important compositions so far are: Tri pesmice for children choir, wind trio and piano, composed for Primary School Pinko Tomažič Choir in 2000 and recorded for the cd “Hura!”, Dve Kosovelovi (V samotnem polju, Slavčki) for male choir, wind quartet and double-bass, composed for Male Choir Srečko Kosovel from Ajdovščina, Slovenia in 2003 – also performed in Ljubljana Philharmonic Hall (Slovenska filharmonija) and recorded on Male Choir Srečko Kosovel “60-years Anniversary” cd, Mehak je predvečer and Pripravljen sem na ples for mixed choir, wind quartet and double-bass, dedicated to Mixed Choir Ipavska from Vipava, Slovenia in 2006.
In October 2007 he was awarded the “Ignacij Ota” Composition Competition Award for the work Pozabljene poti for youth choir, wind quartet and double-bass on Ivan Tavčar’s lyrics.
